Welcome to visual communication aid. Please read the following terms and conditions carefully before using this website. By using this website or any sub-site accessible on this website, the user or you accept, without limitation or qualification, the terms and conditions set out below.

Owner and Operation

Visual Communication Aid is a company incorporated in England and Wales with company number 6536502. The registered office is Visual Communication Aid, 16 Northfield Terrace, Church Fenton, Tadcaster, Yorkshire, LS24 9RQ, VAT number 932 4330 48.

Visual Communication Aid Terms and Conditions:

1. Acceptance of Orders

The Company [Visual Communication Aid]. All orders received by the Company are subject to the following Terms and Conditions. No variation in these terms and conditions will be accepted and the Company reserves the right to refuse any order without providing a reason.

2. Pricing and Payment

All prices shown are Exclusive of Value added tax (Vat); Vat will be applied at the current rate on all orders unless a valid Vat exemption form is received and authorised. Although every effort will be made to advance notice of price increases, the Company reserves the right to change prices and adjust invoices accordingly to the price ruling at the date of dispatch. We also reserve the right to correct clerical omissions and errors at any time. For Account customers, payment is to be received by the company within 30 days from the date of each and every invoice. Placing an order with Visual Communication Aid is taken as authorising us to approach a credit agency on the details given, as required.

3. Quotations

A Quotation by the company shall be valid only for the period stated and if no period is stated, for 30 days from the date of the quotation. A quotation does not constitute a binding contract until the Company has accepted the order by fulfilling the order.

4. Deliveries and Carriage

Any delivery dates and times specified by the Company are approximate only. The Customer shall make all arrangements necessary to take delivery of the goods. The Company will not accept responsibility for the suspension or delay in deliveries, nor the consequences there of. Standard delivery is to the reception desk and/or ground floor at the stated delivery address. It is the customer’s responsibility to inform the Company of any difficulties in delivering or specific requirements at the time of placing the order. The Company cannot accept responsibility for delivery problems resulting from the information supplied by the customer. Some of our larger products (Communication Boards for example) may be delivered to you directly from our supplier. Delivery of these items will be made to the ground floor entrance to the building, not including negotiating lifts or stairs. Delivery does not include unpacking, positioning, assembling or removal of packaging. Please check that deliveries are correct, undamaged and that the correct number of packages have been delivered before providing a signature. Any discrepancy or damage must be notified to Visual Communication Aid within three working days.

5. Cancellation and Variation of Orders

The Company will use reasonable endeavours to meet customers’ individual requirements but the company shall be under no obligation to accept cancellation or amendment to any order or any part of an order. Where the Company agrees such cancellation or amendment to an Order, it is on the understanding that a cancellation or amendment charge may be levied.

6. Warranty and Warranty

Period Goods are supplied according to the descriptions and specifications given on the website. The Company gives no warranty and makes no representation as to the suitability of any goods for any particular purpose unless expressly given or made on the website. Where goods are supplied with the benefit of a warranty, the warranty will only continue to apply providing correct operation, cleaning and handling has been in line with the manufacturer’s guidelines.

7. Retention of Title

All goods supplied by the Company remain Company property until such time as payment has cleared for aforementioned goods. The risk in goods sold to the customer shall pass to the customer upon tender for delivery.

8. Return of Goods

Goods are not supplied on a sale or return basis and the Company is under no obligation to accept goods for return unless goods prove to be faulty. If goods are accepted for return this is subject to the customer accepting the following procedure and conditions:

8.1 The Customer must notify the Company within 7 days of receipt of goods, their intention to request a product return.

8.2 Goods must be returned in their original condition or packaging.

8.3 Goods authorised and accepted by Visual Communication Aid for credit or return will incur a £5 handling charge.

8.4 No replacements are available whilst goods are exchanged, replaced or repaired.

8.5 The Company is bound by the manufacturer’s terms and reserves the right to raise a reasonable restocking charge.

In the event that the customer is not satisfied with the goods, but the goods are not defective, the Company reserves the right to refuse the return of the goods at their absolute discretion. The following category of goods will not be accepted for return: We are not able to accept returns/exchanges on any personalised products, unless the item you receive is damaged or defective, or if there has been an error on our behalf. We provide our customers with various opportunities to check and confirm all personalisation and inputted information via e mail - Please check your order on screen and the confirmation email carefully as we cannot refund products which have been spelt incorrectly.

  • Non-Catalogue lines or items ordered especially for the customer
  • Goods damaged due to misuse or unauthorised repair
  • Opened/partly used goods or where the seals/labels have been removed.
  • Goods damaged by fire, water or smoke.

 

9. Restriction of Liability

The customer must check at the time of delivery that products are correct and undamaged before providing a signature. No liability is accepted for any loss or damage arising from delays in delivery. The Company shall not in any event be liable for indirect or consequential loss or damage.

10. Force Majeure

The Company shall not be liable for any loss or damage caused by circumstances beyond the Company’s control. Should any such event occur the Company may cancel or suspend this contract without incurring any liability for any loss or damage caused.

11. Proper Law

These terms and conditions and the rights and obligations of the parties to the contract shall be governed, interpreted and construed solely in accordance with the laws of England.

12. Colour Reproduction

Our designers take great care when publishing this catalogue, however the limitations of printing may mean a slight variation in the colour shown.

13. Products

Every reasonable care has been taken to ensure that the descriptions are accurate, however specifications may change. Sometimes product specifications from the manufacturer change. In such instances we will do our best to offer you an alternative and will inform you at the time of ordering. All sizes and measurements are approximate but we do try to make sure they are as accurate as possible. On the rare occasion when there is an error in the catalogue, website or leaflet, we will do our best to inform you at the time you order. Sometimes we may experience problems with the supply of certain products and may therefore provide a substitute of the same or better quality at the same price.

14. Privacy

vca recognises the concern of our customers regarding privacy of information. All information you give to vca is stored securely, and is not accessible to other users. Rest assured that any information you give to vca will not be distributed to any other company outside of vca or its affiliated partners, unless you give us your express consent. We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998). We collect information about you for two reasons: firstly, to process your order and secondly, to provide you with the best possible service. We will not e-mail you or pass your information to another trader unless you have given us your consent. In order to process your payment we may, however, provide financial information to our account processors (including Banks and such organisations). In addition, you may notify us if you do not wish to receive any further marketing information from us.

The type of information we will collect about you includes:

We will not collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent. We will endeavour to ensure the information we hold will be accurate and up to date. You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us. If you find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct it promptly.

The personal information which we hold will be held securely in accordance with our internal security policy and the law. If we intend to transfer your information outside the EEA (European Economic Area) we will always obtain your consent first, except for payment processing through the secure channels of our banking partners. We may use technology to track the patterns of behaviour of visitors to our site. This can include using a "cookie" which would be stored on your browser. You can usually modify your browser to prevent this happening. The information collected in this way can be used to identify you unless you modify your browser settings. • We will not disclose or pass on your information to any 3rd party.

15. On – Line Ordering

The information provided on the visual communication aid Website is intended to be used only by the customer. The Company does not authorise the use of such information for any purpose other than your use as immediate consumer and prohibits the use of this information for commercial purposes. Orders placed on the internet shall be mere offers to purchase and shall not be accepted or binding upon the company until confirmed or acknowledged in writing by the company by means of invoice or statement confirming acceptance of your order or by despatch of goods to you

16. Accuracy of Information and Copyright

Visual Communication Aid use their best endeavours to ensure that the information contained in their website, catalogue and leaflets is accurate and not misleading. Accordingly the company retains the right, without obligation, to amend or delete product information without notice. All Website design, text, graphics, all software compilations and all other materials on this site are the property of the company. All rights are reserved. No part of vca’s publications may be reproduced, stored in a retrieval system, or transmitted, in any form or by any means (electronic or mechanical, through repography, digital transmission, recording, or otherwise) without the proper permission of the copyright holder (This applies in the case of downloadable materials they are not transferable from the above)  Material not for resale.

vca uses secpay for financial transactions who use industry standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption to ensure the highest security for credit card and personal details submitted to us over the Internet. Recent surveys have shown that there is less fraud on the Internet than in real life situations (such as using your credit card in a department store or at a restaurant), and we're confident that we are offering the secure service you can expect from vca. Information passed between your computer and our website cannot be read in the unlikely event that it is intercepted by someone else.
